Since there are no community events other than rehearsals this week, The Premiere Playhouse is looking back to our fabulous weekend! Our weekend was jam-packed with successful events across town – check out the details:
On Friday, September 6th we hosted our 3rd annual PREMIERE KARAOKE SHOWDOWN at DaDa Gastropub and raised more than $4,000 for Season 22 💰 Our TOP 3 finalists were Anna Warnjtes in 3rd place (recently seen in THE LITTLE MERMAID and soon to appear in FREAKY FRIDAY), Ceil Stoll in 2nd place (recently seen in THE LITTLE MERMAID and OKLAHOMA!), and Kate Stahl in 1st place (recently seen in THE LITTLE MERMAID & HAIR, soon to lead the company of FREAKY FRIDAY) 🏆 What’s even better – our 1st place Showdown Champion donated her winning pot of entree fees to TPP 😱
On Saturday, September 7th we hosted our 3rd annual FESTIVAL OF NEW PLAYS at the Washington Pavilion’s Belbas Theater where we showcased concert readings of 4 NEW PLAYS by LOCAL PLAYWRIGHTS, in addition to curated scholarly activity related to said plays throughout the day 📝 It was a successful & exciting day of new play development, and we can’t wait to announce the titles of our 2 FINALIST PLAYS to debut at THE PREMIERE PREMIERES from February 13-16, 2025 in the historic Orpheum Theater of Sioux Falls.
